Drummuir Community Hall

Drummuir & Botriphnie Community Trust

Drummuir Community Hall
A wee bit of history….
The hall was built in 1900, funded by Mrs Edward Walker, the mother-in-law of the then Laird of Drummuir, for community use. A Board of Trustees, traditionally made up of the Local Councillor, The Dominee (Head Teacher) of Botriphnie Primary School and the Minister of Botriphnie Church leased the hall from Drummuir Estate and the day to day running of the hall was managed by a Committee, made up of Club representatives and interested members of the community. This arrangement was in place until 2004, when the present lease expired and Drummuir Estate offered the hall and cottage for sale to the Community.

Funding was successfully secured from the Big Lottery (Community Land Unit), HIE and The Moray Council and in March 2005 the sale was complete.

Further successful funding bids allowed the hall to be fully renovated and extended.

And now….
Following the complete refurbishment and extension, in 2011, we can now offer, for hire, a large multi-purpose hall. This fine hall is suitable for a variety of different events and meetings with a seating capacity of 120.

A small meeting room, suitable for up to 30 people, is also available for hire.

A large catering kitchen completes the facilities.

The building is heated throughout by a renewable energy underfloor heating system, creating a warm pleasant venue. All areas are fully accessible to all abilities.
